* 10 minute match/event default rule in effect. Please be on time for your matches.
* Matches may be called up to 10 minutes early.
* You should always be in the gym at least 30 minutes before your scheduled match times.
Tournament Instructions:
• Please wait for your matches to be called over the speaker system.
• Once called, please come quickly to the tournament desk and pick up your clipboard with your match card and pencil THROUGH THE OUTSIDE OF THE PROSHOP WINDOW and once your opponent arrives you can proceed to your assigned court.
• Keep your warm-up limited to 2 minutes.
• All matches will be the best 2 out of 3 games to 21 points. If you are tied at 20 you must win by 2 points. If you get to 29 all, the team that scores the 30th point wins the game.
• 1 minute water break is permitted when the first team reaches 11 points in each game, and a 2 minute water break is permitted between games. Switch sides after each game and at the 11 pt. break in the third game.
• Shake hands with your opponent after the end of the match
• Collect your match shuttle as it must be returned to the tournament desk after your match. Only one shuttle is provided per match. It is a good idea to purchase your own tube of shuttles for the tournament in case you break a shuttle so you have backups and warm-up shuttles.
• Write your scores for each game as you go, and CIRCLE THE WINNER of the match after the match is over and return promptly to the counter on the INSIDE OF THE PROSHOP TOURNAMENT DESK and return your clipboard, pencil and shuttle.
• Wait to be called again. Keep in mind as it is A-B-C-D drop flight format that we can’t call B, C, or D matches until we get through 2 rounds of a higher level bracket, so we appreciate your patience.
• Remember this format guarantees three matches so please don’t leave the gym until you verify at the desk that you are done. (only exception this year is for some players in U15 Boys Doubles where the draw is a little smaller).
A-B-C-D format:
The first two matches sort you into your level and then you get to compete for medals and prizes in a single elimination bracket at your level after that !
• Win, Win: you stay in the main draw (A Bracket) and compete for medals and prizes for 1st and 2nd place of A Draw. Once you lose your third match you are out.
• Win, Lose: go to B Bracket “Special Plate” found below the main draw (scroll down). Compete for medals and prizes for 1st and 2nd place of B Draw. Once you lose your third match you are out.
• Lose, Win: You go to C Bracket “Plate” found below the main draw (scroll down). If you win your second match you stay in this bracket and compete for medals and prizes for 1st and 2nd place of C Draw. Once you lose your third match you are out.
* Lose, Lose: You go to C Bracket “Plate” found below the main draw (scroll down) once you lose your first match. However, if you lose your second match there you drop down to D Bracket “Consolation Plate” found further down the draw page (scroll down). You then stay in this bracket and compete for medals and prizes for 1st and 2nd place of D Draw. Once you lose your third match you are out.
